I like, I like, I like
Before we begin this lesson, please look over the following vocabulary:
suki like/love kirai hate |
kare he kanojo she |
ocha green tea ika squid |
In this lesson we will talk about how you can say how you feel about something. To start off, we'll first learn how to say "I like green tea." To do so, you take the basic Japanese sentence, "______ desu.", and add "ga suki" before "desu", to make "______ ga suki desu". "Ga" is a particle that connects something the person is talking about with how that person feels about it.
To say you hate something in Japanese, all you have to do is replace "suki" with "kirai". So to say something like "I hate squid", you would write "Ika ga kirai desu". Here are a few example sentences using suki and kirai:
Ongaku ga suki desu.
