Application of Alphabets

Kanji, hiragana, and katakana are often used together in Japanese sentences and even in words. Almost every sentence in Japanese includes kanji and hiragana. Here's a example of how all three alphabets are used in a sentence:

私の名前はジョンです。
Watashi no namae wa Jon desu.
My name is John.

As previously stated in Intro to Hiragana, hiragana and kanji can be used together to form a word. Kanji and katakana can also be used together to form words, such as in 北アメリカ (kita:amerika), which means North America.
