Another Japanese particle is no. This particle is placed between two nouns to indicate posession or ownership. For example, "Ryota's bicycle" in Japanese would be "ryota no jitensha", and "my desk" would be "watashi no tsukue". Here are some examples in which no would be used in a sentence:

Watashi no okaasan desu.
This is my mother.
Megu no tomodachi wa seito desu.
Megu's friend is a student.
Boku no inu wa kawaii desu.
My dog is cute.
Watashi no gohan wa atsui desu.
My meal is hot.
